Disasters Following the Storm in Bahía Blanca

A historical storm battered the city of Bahía Blanca, leaving a chaotic scene in its wake. More than 350 millimeters of water fell in a few hours, causing the deaths of ten people and severe material damage. Flooded streets, overturned cars, and destruction of infrastructure are part of the consequences of this meteorological phenomenon.

The Napostá and Maldonado rivers overflowed, leading to the breaking of bridges and complicating traffic between different areas of the city. Residents are affected by the lack of basic services such as drinking water and electricity, as they try to recover from the devastation in their homes and vehicles.

Federal forces, including the Army, Gendarmerie, Prefecture, Federal Police, and rescue teams, are working in the area to assist the population. Governor Axel Kicillof met with local authorities and members of the Crisis Committee to assess the situation and plan the actions to be taken in the coming days. Efforts are also being coordinated at the national and provincial levels to respond to the emergency.

The community comes together in the difficult task of cleaning and rebuilding what the storm left behind, demonstrating solidarity and resilience in the face of adversity. Despite the challenges that arise, joint work between various state agencies and civil society is expected to overcome this crisis and begin the recovery phase.
